Why a normal cleaning does not fix pet odor

When a pet has an accident on carpet, the liquid does not stay on the surface. It moves into the carpet backing, the pad underneath, and often the subfloor. A standard carpet cleaning freshens the top layer, then the smell returns as everything dries. Scrub Pop arranges treatment built for that problem, handled entirely through us.

How the treatment works

The affected areas are located and mapped, since the visible spot is usually smaller than the area that needs treatment. Carpet, pad, and subfloor are then treated with products that break down the compounds in urine rather than covering them. In heavier cases the carpet is pulled back so the pad and subfloor can be reached directly, and the pad is replaced where it cannot be saved.

What to expect

Minor, recent accidents are often resolved in a single visit. Long-standing or widespread contamination may need pad replacement and a follow-up check. You will get a straight assessment of what is realistic before any work is scheduled.

How to plan the work

Tell us how many areas are involved, roughly how old they are, whether it is carpet or hard floor, and whether the smell is localized or general. Photos of the spots help.

How pricing works

We give you a quote before any work is scheduled, based on the details you provide — surfaces, square footage, access, and condition. The more you can tell us up front, the more accurate it is.

Occasionally what we find on site differs from what was described: heavier buildup, harder access, hidden damage, or more area than expected. If that happens we stop and talk with you before doing the extra work — nothing gets added without your go-ahead. If the job turns out smaller than quoted, the price comes down.

Quotes are valid for 30 days and assume normal working conditions and access. Materials, disposal, and permits (when needed) are billed at cost on top of the quote.

Frequently asked questions

Can you always remove the smell completely?
Most cases improve dramatically or resolve. Results depend on how far the urine spread, how long it has been there, and what is under the carpet. We give you a realistic assessment after inspecting the affected areas.
Do you have to pull up the carpet?
Light cases are treated from the top. Where urine has saturated the pad, the carpet is pulled back in that area so the pad and subfloor can be treated directly, and the pad is replaced if needed. That is coordinated as part of the job.
Is the treatment safe around pets and children?
The products are intended for use in occupied homes. We will tell you how long to keep the area clear while it dries. Confirm any specific sensitivities in your request.
